I must say this pad is stretching me. I thought by now I would be having some amazing pictures absolutely breath taking (I mean I am on my 24th day, National Geographic should be calling me by now). But now that reality has set in, I’m realizing this pad isn’t as much about perfection and the great picture, but about me being comfortable with my camera. I’m learning to use my camera when I just rolled out of bed and my hair is a mess, I haven’t had my coffee and the kids are screaming for breakfast (not that I neglect my kids for photography, well at least not often) and I realize I’m three days behind on posting a pic.

I’m not sure what to expect over the next couple months, much less over the next couple weeks. I am very excited to see this chronological excerpt from my life in all it’s messy glory!

Heather, for my first year’s PaD project, I liked about 20% of the shots. Now that I’ve started again, I like the new ones a little better.

I’m also a few days behind in posting. I’ve shot the pics, I just need to post them. The biggest thing I learned from doing a PaD and following other’s projects is how to use my camera. I’d see a pic I liked and try to emulate it. If I couldn’t figure out how to do it, I’d e-mail the person and ask how they did it. Most were very nice and helpful about it.

Towards the end of the last PaD, I would look at what I just shot and think, ‘Is this interesting?’. If I couldn’t answer yes, I would try to see how to make it better.

Good luck and keep up the good work.

    Jim
